Our Mission StatementTo enhance, encourage and support youth development through the Santa Barbara County 4-H program. Our CommitmentTo encourage and support the 4-H program, its impact on today’s youth… the leaders of tomorrow. 4-H encourages productive, wholesome and basic life skills for youth to use as essential stepping-stones to a successful future. 4-H challenges eager minds and offers an educational environment of positive enrichment through hands on experience.
Our DreamWe have two long term goals that require considerably more money that we now have. Dream One is to take over the Camp Wahoo program from the County Council. Many of the possible sites for the camp will not rent to the Council because of its relationship with the University of California. As an independent, non-profit organization we would have considerably more negotiating flexibility with the organizations that have camp facilities for rent. Dream Two is to establish a 4-H Center somewhere in the center of the county. This would be patterned on the centers in Ventura and Sonoma Counties and would have meeting rooms for all types of 4-H activities. |
